We provide Pool Safety Inspection Services across Brisbane, north to the Sunshine Coast and west into the Brisbane Valley. Our qualified pool inspectors will assess your pool barriers to ensure your pool meets all required regulations.


On the 1st of December 2010, the Queensland Government introduced new laws around pool safety barriers and fences. A.S. 1926 parts 1 and 2,….. Queensland Development Code MP 3.4 “Pool Safety Barriers……..The Building Code of Australia, Building Act 1975”.

It is now mandatory in Queensland for all private and shared swimming pools to be registered and have a current Pool Safety Certificate.

Swimming should be fun for all, however prior to the introduction of these new pool safety laws being introduced in Queensland, drowning was the leading cause of death for young children aged one to four  years of age.

The Report

The report as an invaluable tool in assisting to keep all swimmers particularly young children safe.  A pool inspection will provide you with a clear and concise document  including annotated digital photographs, recommendations and comment.  Your report is customised and is prepared specifically for your pool.

 Pool safety inspections are carried out in accordance with  pool safety standards as defined by the Building Act 1975, AS 1926, parts 1 and 2, and the QDC MP 3.4.

For your protection, and peace of mind, our pool safety inspectors are fully insured, and licensed under the QBCC.  License number 102241.

What Happens After The Inspection

Once the inspection is complete and the inspector satisfied that your pool is compliant, you will then be issued with a form 23 Pool Safety Certificate. In the case of a private pool these Pool safety Certificates are valid for a period of 2 years. In the case of a shared pool such as those found in resorts, motels hotels caravan parks and apartments the Pool Safety Certificates are valid for a period of 12 months.

Non Compliant Pool

Should your pool be deemed non compliant, our pool safety inspector will explain the reasons why, and then offer advice as to   work needed to make your pool compliant.

A form 26, “ Non conformity Notice” will then be issued. Under the current legislation, you have up to 90 days to have the work completed and your pool reinspected.

Rectification Work

As R.P.B.I. are also registered builders in Queensland (QBCC 23255), we can provide quotations are carry out rectification work to pool barriers often at the time of inspection, time permitting.
