What is the Australian Standard governing your reports?
Real Property Building Inspections prepares all reports in accordance with AS 4349.1 (Building Inspections) and AS 4349.3 ( Pest Inspections) AS 1926 parts 1 and 2, QDC MP 3.4 ( Pool Safety Inspections).
What can I expect to see within your written report?
Real Property Building Inspections ( RPBI ) will provide a comprehensive building, pest or pool inspection report compiled in an easy to read and understand report including digital photos annotated where applicable to highlight any areas of concern.
Is the cost of Building, Pest or Pool Inspections expensive?
RPBI building inspectors will conduct all Building, Pest or Pool Inspections with the best interest of you our customer as our focus.
Given that the purchase of your new home is the single biggest purchase you will ever make the cost of an independent, expert report is a small investment in piece of mind enabling you to fully understand the condition of the property you wish to purchase.
When am I required to pay for my report?
On completion of the Real Property Building Inspections contact, offer and acceptance and terms and conditions forms you will be asked to make payment into our nominated bank account.
This payment needs to be received prior to the inspection date for the booking to be confirmed, and the inspection to proceed.
How soon after booking can I expect the inspection to be carried out and the report to be received?
RPBI will endeavour to carry out the inspection as soon as possible and will discuss your preference for time and date, inspections are generally within 2 – 3 days of booking, the time and date for the inspection is confirmed at the time of booking and the written report will be provided within 48 hrs of inspection.
Generally, how long will the inspection take?
The time taken will vary depending on the size and condition of the buiding or buildings being inspected.
All inspections are carried out by the owner of Real Property Building Inspections, a registered builder in QLD for over 30 years, we do not impose time limits to our inspection process, ensuring that each and every building inspection is a thorough and exacting assessment of every property inspected.
Can I contact the inspector after the report has been received to discuss any concerns I may have?

Cost and estimates for repair work are not included within the residential building inspection report.
Are Real Property Building Inspections registered and Insured?
Yes. RPBI are registered builders in Queensland through the QBCC, and carry both Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance policies.
Can I attend the inspection?
Real Property Building Inspections encourages clients to attend the inspection where possible, and at the conclusion of the inspection process our inspector will walk you through the building to demonstrate first hand any issues or observations.
Can you conduct property, pool, and pest inspections on the same day?
Yes. Real Property Building Inspectors will conduct multiple discipline inspections at one property on the same day.
This can often result in substantial cost saving for you our customer.
Is the business locally owned and operated?
Yes. RPBI is a locally owned and operated business with every inspection carried out by Richard Skelly, the business owner who has been a registered builder in Queensland for over 30 years.
Do you arrange access to the property or do I?
Real Property Building Inspections will contact selling agents or property owners to facilitate access to the property on your behalf.
What areas do you service?
RPBI are based on Brisbane north side around halfway between Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.
We service all areas between Brisbane in the south, to Noosa in the north, and Brisbane Valley in the west.
